Fares (Starting July 1, 2023)

• $3 per trip, and an additional $1 per accompanying passenger, up to two additional passengers (maximum total of three passengers per trip).
• Passengers must pay using the DCNC Mobile App, which requires a credit or debit card on file in-app at the time of booking. Payments (cash/credit) will not be allowed on board.

Ride Cancellations / No Shows

• Users that Cancel a trip more than five minutes after booking will be subject to a $1.50 late cancellation penalty fee.
• Users that are No-Shows upon arrival of the DCNC vehicle (after a three-minute waiting period) will be subject to a $3 penalty fee. A no-show occurs when a user fails to appear to board the vehicle for a scheduled trip within three minutes of vehicle arrival.
• Those who attempt to use the service without payment will be permanently suspended from using the service.
• Users can dispute a cancellation or no-show fee within 24 hours of the booked trip. In the app, click Contact Us, and then email.  Include name, date and time of booked ride, pickup and drop-off locations, phone number, and reason for the dispute.  Allow 7 to 10 business days for any refund adjustments.
• Cleaning fees for users that disrupt regular service after causing a significant mess in the vehicle.
  • $75 – extensive liquid and smelly messes inside the vehicle, including bodily fluids and wet food (such as foods that have sauces/broth that have a strong smell)
  • $35 – significant staining liquid messes and sticky materials inside the vehicle, such as coffee, soda, grease from food, etc.
  • $10 – small amounts of liquid spills that stain, such as drops of coffee, soda, grease from food, etc.

You may add payment methods in-app or through a secure phone line. Cash will not be an available payment option. A valid credit or debit card must be on file to book rides. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to add a payment method through your DC Neighborhood Connect App.

1. Open the DC Neighborhood Connect App and tap the circle with three bars on the upper lefthand side of the homepage
2. Tap “Payment Methods” from the menu
3. Enter your credit or debit card information
4. A confirmation message will show that you have successfully added a new payment method

Don’t have the app? No problem. You may use a secure phone line to add a payment method to your account by following the steps below:

1. Call (202) 398-0500 and request a dispatcher for your unique Rider ID. If you do not have an existing account, the dispatcher can help you create one as well.
2. Call +1 (417) 900-3859
3. Enter your Rider ID, followed by the # sign
4. Enter the expiration date of the card, with two digits for the month and two digits for the year, followed by the # sign
5. Enter the security code, followed by the # sign
6. The automated phone system will let you know if you have successfully added a payment method to your account
7. Once you have successfully added a valid payment method, you are ready to book trips by calling (202) 398-0500. When booking, please have your Rider ID handy to share with the dispatcher, to ensure that the ride is requested under the appropriate account.

Call 202-398-0500 and request for a DC Neighborhood Connect ride. Our dispatchers will book it on your behalf.

DC Neighborhood Connect is a low-cost curb-to-curb shared ride shuttle service, offering service in parts of wards 1, 4, 5 & 8. Passengers may be asked to walk a short distance to or from a pick-up/drop-off point to maximize efficiency. Check your app to see the designated pick-up or drop-off location for your trip.

Effective March 28, 2022,  the zone that previously serviced parts of Northeast and Northwest was split into two separate zones. The zones are split along Michigan Ave, creating a Northern Zone and a Southern Zone. The map below shows the new service zones.

• Northern Zone 1 is bordered by Michigan Ave, Eastern Ave NE, and Georgia Ave NW
• Southern Zone 2 is bordered by Florida Ave NE and Bladensburg Ave (S), Eastern Ave NE (E), and Georgia Ave (W).  This zone includes new access to the Fort Lincoln neighborhood and shopping center and the NOMA Metro Station. Please note that for the Fort Lincoln shopping center, pick-up and drop-off points are limited to the Market St NE/Lowe’s and Market St NE/Costco bus stops.
• Medstar Washington Hospital and Brookland CUA Metro is accessible from both zones.  These locations can be used as transfer points from one zone to the other.

These changes do not affect service in the Ward 8 East of the River Zone.

Although booster seats are not required for children under 8 in DC Neighborhood Connect shuttles, the adult must ensure their child is safely secured in the vehicle while riding.
